There are many examples of metal sculpture to be found around Berkeley, and a good sample of them are pictured in this series, but among the more outstanding art is the work of Amy Blackstone, who specializes in gates made from recycled material that feature fauna and flora of the Bay Area. This private gate on Arch offers a deer, a bird, at least a couple of fish, a cat, and several different plants. Larger scale examples of her creations can be found on the garage gates of the ArtTech building (corner of Addison and Milvia, downtown) and on her Sunflower Gate for the Peralta Community Garden near the intersection of Peralta and Hopkins in the Westbrae section of the city.
